Speech-language pathologists and others working in the schools have faced increased scrutiny regarding their documentation of assessment and intervention responsibilities. This workshop focuses on the legal regulations and best practices recommended by governing authorities as well as information about common paperwork compliance challenges in the ESC-20 regional area. Participants will discuss document samples and applications to their own caseloads.
Learning objectives:
- Identify resources for accessing specific paperwork requirements from regulating agencies.
- Evaluate sample Present Levels of Academic and Functional Performance Statements, IEP Goals, and Full and Individual Evaluation Summary Statements for adequacy in comparison to legal requirements.
- Identify ways to improve documentation for specific students in their caseloads.
