Ethical Dilemmas in K - 12 Interpreting 2021



ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance to programs serving students who are deaf or hard of hearing, including assisting programs meet the unique needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing across the continuum of placement options.

Important Session Information:


 We will define ethical dilemmas.  We will see when these dilemmas occur in various professions; then, we will examine very specific ethical dilemmas that commonly effect Educational Interpreters.  We will examine the Code of Professional Conduct as well as the Ethics for Educational Interpreters as espoused by leading Educational Interpreter entities and researchers.  Standards of practice will be shared to help guide educational interpreters as they confront an ever-changing educational landscape.
