Important Session Information:


This session is being held via ZOOM and is applicable to ISDs and Open-Enrollment Charter Schools.

ESC-20 is offering several different stand-alone Special Education Fiscal Compliance sessions, with each session covering a specific topic. Each session in the mini-series requires separate registration.

This session will address the topic of Allowable Use of Special Education Funds.

There are no prerequisites for attending this session.

However, it would be beneficial, though not required, for participants to first attend the EDGAR Mini-Series: Federal Cost Principles for Allowable Use of Federal Funds, applicable to all federal awards. The EDGAR session will be held via ZOOM on 11/3/2021, session #79964.

Learning Objectives for this session:

Participants will gain an understanding of principles and resources for determining allowable use of special education funds.

Webinar Session Requirements:

This session will take place in the form of a webinar. Participants must have a desktop computer, laptop, or Chromebook in order to participate, along with adequate internet connection. (If joining via a tablet, please ensure the latest version of the ZOOM app is installed.)

Once you register, you will receive a confirmation email that will contain your login instructions for the ZOOM session. Be sure the email address connected to your Connect20 account is accurate. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam or junk mail. Or, call Central Registration at 210-370-5671 for assistance during business hours 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Credit Hours:

All participants who are registered in Connect20, attend the session, and complete the electronic Attendance Form at the end of the session will receive a certificate of completion/attendance via Connect20.

The Connect20 certificate must not be used by CPAs (Certified Public Accountants) or TASBO-certified participants to self-report credit hours to TSBPA (Texas State Board of Public Accountancy) or TASBO (Texas Association of School Business Officials) since the hours on the Connect20 certificate do not align with the requirements of TSBPA or TASBO.

Specialized credit hours for CPAs and TASBO-Certified participants will not be awarded to participants who attend this session because real time participation and engagement will not be monitored.
