Career & Technology Education (CTE)
CTE 101 For New - Next to New, and Even Not so New - CTE Administrators

CTE instruction aims at developing foundational skills, core workplace competencies, and specific skill competencies in various occupational areas. Internships, practicums, cooperative education, school-based enterprises, dual enrollment programs, and apprenticeships are a few venues that deliver CTE by providing meaningful opportunities for leaners to apply their academic and technical skills. We serve the career and education community through targeted support for CTE compliance, program development and implementation with rigor and relevancy; bridging with postsecondary education and industry partners to build a global workforce, quality education programs and 21st century learners.

Leadership Effectiveness

Important Session Information:

If you are a CTE Administrator with fewer than 5 years’ experience supervising CTE programs, this workshop is for you! (Who are we kidding? If you are a veteran with 25 years of experience, you can still benefit from this training! ??)

This collaborative conversation with new (and next to new, and yes! veteran) administrators is a fast paced overview and dialog of the duties of a CTE Administrator as they relate to state and federal guidelines, program development, compliance, funding, coding, and more.

Participants will receive a virtual binder full of resources for the CTE Administrator. Time is planned for networking and Q&A, so plan to be active!.

We will review topics such as state and federal laws and guidelines, the SAAH (Student Attendance Accounting Handbook), funding basics for CTE on the state and federal level, CTE Administrator's calendar for the year, CTE staff and teaching credentials, career clusters, POS, the foundation high school plan and endorsements, student industry certifications, IBCs, business advisory councils and partnerships, non-traditional student participation in CTE courses, and much more.

Lace up your running shoes and bring your list of questions. We will tackle them together!  Includes a binder and resources for administrators
