This session is covered in two afternoons. The first afternoon will address overall communication strategies for students who are deafblind and how their communication may be unique compared to other students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This part will include topics such as: calendar systems, interaction, routines, and specialized supports. The second afternoon will address the importance of teaming, helpful evaluation tools for communication evaluations, writing appropriate reports, and how to take the data from these evaluations and create meaningful instruction and programming for students who are deafblind.
