Cancelled-Trauma Sensitive Schools



Professional development for school counselors is aligned with the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and supports work in the four service delivery components: Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support.


 


Important Session Information:


Participants will learn what trauma is and who is affected, how we respond to stress, the impact of trauma exposure on our campuses, and what it means to be a trauma-sensitive school. Additionally, information will be presented on Adverse Childhood Experiences, Suicide  signs and symptoms, and suggestions on building resources to help schools move forward in becoming Trauma Informed.  Participants will better understand why the trauma-sensitive approach is necessary for school and staff engagement to increase learning.
