What Does 80% of Counseling Time Look Like?



Professional development for school counselors is aligned with the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs and supports work in the four service delivery components: Guidance Curriculum, Responsive Services, Individual Planning, and System Support.


 


Important Session Information:


In this half-day session, we will review SB 179 and discuss examples of activities that fit into the four components of a Comprehensive School Counseling Program as well as fair share duties and non-counseling tasks. Participants should bring a list of their current duties and will leave with a tool and instructions for completing a time study to help evaluate their program as well as guidance for ensuring campus/district counselors use common criteria in accounting for their time.
