Session 1 (12/2/2021; 9-11 a.m.): Conceptual Representation of LD
This first session will focus on the conceptual representation of SLD, important concepts for assessing cognitive and achievement domains, and the PSW model with emphasis on the DD/C method.
Session 2 (1/13/2022; 9 a.m. -12 p.m.): DD/C and X-BASS with Case Studies
This part will further explain the DD/C method and use of X-BASS to assist in determining a PSW.
Two Case Studies will be used – 1. OHI, LD Math/Dyscalculia with write-up of conclusions and 2. COG results, how to organize data and sample write-up
Session 3 (1/26/2022; 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.): Case Studies
SLD BRS/Dyslexia with phonological processing
SLD BRS and RF/Dyslexia with orthographic processing
SLD Case using the WJ-IV of a kid with a lower IQ and potential DNQ versus LD
Session 4 (2/9/2022; 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.): Case Studies
SLD Written Expression with Dysgraphia
SLD Reading Comprehension without dyslexia
Finalization and review of concepts, issues, nuances, etc.
For sessions 3 and 4, participants can submit a case to review and that can be added to the workshop. Throughout the sessions, there is opportunity to ask questions and also to submit questions for consideration at the next session. Case studies are used throughout sessions 2-4 to illustrate how to apply the DD/C method, including samples of how to write conclusions.
