The prevalence of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has increased faster than any other neurodevelopmental disorder, from 1 in 130 to 1 in 44 in 2021. According to the most recent data, many schools have shifted toward inclusive educational models. Today, nearly 50% of students with ASD spend up to 80% of their school day in general education classrooms. This workshop focuses on teaching skills that teachers and schools require to support students with ASD to be successful in general education settings. Participants will discuss challenges faced and learn practical strategies to overcome those challenges in the areas of assessment, measurement, teaching procedures, treatment of challenging behavior, and social skills.
