This 90-minute virtual session is the first of a 4-session webinar series for paraprofessionals. One may attend all four sessions in the order that they are offered or one may pick and choose between the sessions. In this introductory session, we will discuss the roles and responsibilities of paraprofessionals who work with students who have met special education eligibility, build a foundational knowledge base of specially designed instruction, and review the variety of common job duties one may encounter within the continuum of services.
This session will utilize the TEA-vetted documents, "Working with Paraprofessionals: A Resource for Teachers of Students with Disabilities" and the "Working with Paraprofessionals Field Users Guide." No prior knowledge or training is required prior to attending this session.
This session is appropriate for paraprofessionals who support inclusive services and/or work within self-contained settings and general education and special education teachers who act as the supervising teacher for paraprofessionals.
Other Fall sessions offered in the paraprofessional series are listed below. We highly suggest attending all sessions. All sessions are offered again in the Spring.
