Important Session Information:

Do you support students who receive RTI?  Do you support students who have a 504 or IEP?  Do you have a student, a small group, or a class that you believe may benefit from a specific instructional practice but aren't sure how to assess effectiveness? Then this 60-minute powerhouse session is for YOU!

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to monitor progress on the annual goals and objectives in the Individual Education Program (IEP) for students with special education needs. Progress monitoring is the evidence-based practice of measuring progress regarding a specific area of growth. Making purposeful, data-based decisions is vital to ensuring alignment between instruction and continued student progress on goals/objectives.  Understanding the importance of consistent progress monitoring with fidelity of implementation is a cornerstone to closing skill gaps with struggling students including those with and without special education services and supports.

This session is appropriate for any educational role with a hand in data collection and/or data-based instructional decision-making. Participants can expect an overview of critical components of progress monitoring, implementation examples, and resources. Please come ready to engage fully with other participants and the instructor.
