This session will explore alternatives to disciplinary removal to reduce the amount of in school suspensions and out of school suspensions to address behavior concerns. We will review restorative practices and connect Social Emotional Learning to behavior and discipline practices. Walk away with interventions and strategies to plan out your next five steps to changing behavior and reducing punitive practices.
This training is in alignment with the following 2022 Special Education Self-Assessment Domains to support your Local Education Agency's (LEA) efforts to evaluate and improve your educational program serving students with disabilities receiving special education services: Domains 2-Intervention, 16 &17- Disproportionality, 19-Behavior, and 20-Behavior Intervention Plans.
