Session Detail

AIS Professional Development
Marginalized Students and Mental Health

AIS Professional Development

Important Session Information:

Many of our students face challenges, however some of them have a different baseline. Some students have been up since 4 AM to ride the bus to campus because they are experiencing homelessness. Others experience food insecurities and start the day with an empty stomach. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center tells us "understanding racial and ethnic differences in rates of suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and suicide deaths is essential for more effectively directing suicide prevention efforts." Please join us to better understand the mental health needs of our marginalized students and how we might address them.
Target Audience: All School Staff
