This session will help licensed specialists in school psychology (LSSPs) to consider and discuss current issues in cultural diversity as it relates to school psychology practice.
Schools in America are becoming increasingly diverse. School psychologists who are culturally competent are able to ensure that the services they provide regarding assessment, intervention, and consultation are designed to meet student, parent, and staff needs. This session seeks to assist LSSPs in being able to reflect, review and promote the knowledge and skills needed for LSSPs to work effectively in diverse school environments, in order to become culturally competent service providers.
