The VISSIT: Visual Impairment Scale of Service Intensity of Texas is designed to guide teachers of students with visual impairments and orientation and mobility specialist in the determination of the type of service as well as the amount of service that should be provided for each student on their caseload. This tool is designed to support in the provision of equitable services for all students with visual impairments based on data presented to the ARD/IEP committee in making informed decisions on the appropriate amount and type of service for the student. In the workshop, participants will learn how to decide what information is needed to provide the different levels of scores for each section for Direct Service as well as Educational Team Support and Family Support and scoring the instrument. Participants will need to bring their own FVE/LMA and O&M Assessment to be scored during the workshop.
