This dynamic face-to-face 3-hour content specific session has been designed to support the facilitation of specially designed instruction (SDI) for students serviced within the framework of the general education classroom or a similarly based environment throughout the special education continuum of services including resource. Participants will learn how to analyze student performance results to address learning gaps, identify essential reading and writing skills, and design lessons to include specific instructional strategies to support students in English Language Arts and Reading in order to increase progress towards ELAR IEP goals and grade level TEKS. These research-based strategies will cast a wide net around student populations who receive intervention making them applicable to the likelihood of positive student outcomes amongst diverse student needs. The format of the session includes time for application and lesson planning with the support of the instructor.This training is offered in both a virtual format and as a face-to-face option.
