G/T 6 hour Update - Impacting our young Gifted learners through an Annotated Bibliography of SEL children's books (Grades PK-4)

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Come explore social, emotional learning literature in the form of children's stories appropriate for pre-k through grade 4. We will do an analysis of the RLA standards to determine what types of books might help you support both content, learning, and social emotional learning in your classroom. This can be a transformational experience in the lives of our young learners as they continue to interact with the people in their lives. You will review and apply effective collaborative strategies to get the most of our young scholars.
