Registration for this session is open to certified teachers who are currently teaching in a public school district or charter school.
In this session, participants will learn the fundamentals of dyslexia intervention through a review of Texas dyslexia laws and current research, as well as best practices in dyslexia instruction. We will delve into evidence-based components of instruction and explore the continuum for developing reading ability in students with dyslexia. Participants will learn to deliver daily intervention using Reading by Design, a multisensory, systematic, explicit, and intensive reading program designed for students with dyslexia.
The registration cost covers 5 days of training. Only those teachers who attend all 5 days of training and who successfully meet all training requirements will receive program materials necessary to implement the program with 1 small group of students.
Earning a certificate for this course requires participants to attend all training dates, successfully complete all assignments on time and pass a practicum model lesson. Participants have a limited number of attempts to pass the practicum. Make-up days are not available, so please be sure you are able to attend all dates.
