Mental Health Mashup: Youth Suicide Prevention and Awareness, Barriers to Reporting, and more!

AIS Professional Development

Important Session Information:

Target Audience: School Staff

What is suicide and what does someone at risk look like? Unfortunately, there is no single answer to describe who or why someone may be at risk leaving an emphasis on the need to increase awareness and understanding about suicide.

In this course we will touch the surface of a very in-depth and important conversation regarding the prevalence of suicide in youth, recognizing signs and symptoms of suicidal ideations, understanding risk factors associated with suicidality, promoting protective factors, and understanding what resources are available. With this information, our goal is to help continue breaking the stigma associated with mental health and suicide.

Mental Health Mash Up Sessions are presented by Brandalyn Haggerty, Mental Health Education Liaison from The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS).

Each session will consist of 3 presentations that will be provided by CHCS, and two additional community partners.

This sessions community partners and topics will be:
