Are you new to the LID classroom?! Whether you this is your first year teaching, ever, or just new to the LID classroom, this 2-day face-to-face session (10/18/23 & 11/9/23) is for you!
Low Incidence Disability (LID) programs often go by a variety of names, including Life Skills, Functional Living Unit, Adaptive Learning Environment (ALE), etc. but we all have the common goal of providing safe, exciting, and effective practices for students with significant cognitive disabilities.
LID 101 will introduce you to the best practices needed to build and implement an organized, effective, and fun-filled learning environment for your students.
Topics will include classroom set up and organization, structuring for communication and behavior, grade-level TEKS curriculum, Standards-Based Individualized Education Program (IEP) development, STAAR Alternate 2, year-long planning, grading, and being the instructional leader in the classroom.
**Please note this is a multi-day workshop. Participants must attend all days to receive credit.
