Visually Impaired
Behavior: A Different Perspective - Planning Behavior Interventions for Students that are Deafblind and Multiple Impairments



ESC-20 provides Supplementary Services for the Visually Impaired (SSVI) in accordance with the comprehensive Regional Plan for Serving Students with Visual Impairments. Specialized training is offered and technical assistance is available upon request.
 


Important Session Information:


During this training, we will explore ways to foster safety, success, independence, and connectedness by using proactive and responsive strategies. We will also address how meeting these needs can impact behavior and lay the foundation for all development and learning. TSBVI’s Guidance for Planning Behavior Intervention for Children and Young Adults who are Deafblind or have Visual and Multiple Impairments will provide the framework for this training.

Objectives
Participants will:
- Learn and understand how sensory differences affect social-emotional development.
- Learn and understand how to use the behavior guidance document.
- Engage in activities that will reinforce proactive and positive strategies designed to reduce distress.
