Target Audience: Adults working with youth, school staff, mental health community partners
Mental Health Mash Up Sessions are presented by Brandalyn Haggerty, Mental Health Education Liaison from The Center for Health Care Services (CHCS).
This session will consist of 3 presentations that will be provided by CHCS, and two additional community partners.
CHCS Presentation Description: We may hear (or say) “you’re too young to be stressed”, but are we dismissing serious and potentially harmful experiences and emotions that our youth are having? Youth are exposed to endless factors that are impacting their mental health and causing stress and anxiety such as academics, family, friendships, relationships, and social media...to name a few. In this session we will look at the various issues potentially causing these emotions, what type of behavior may indicate a youth is struggling, and strategies to help a child be successful in coping with these experiences.
The guest community partners and topics will be:
Child Safe - Secondary Traumatic Stress
AACOG - Anxiety and Stress in Youth with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
