Important Session Information:

Engaging Academic Instruction in the LID Classroom!

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires ALL students with disabilities to be provided access to the general education curriculum.

All classroom instruction should start from the same content standards, regardless of a student’s disability.

But what does this mean and what does this practically look like for students with the most significant cognitive disabilities?

I’m so glad you asked!!

Come to this morning make & take session to learn how to utilize the TEKS Vertical Alignment Documents and other planning tools to plan and create lessons and activities that not only allow student access and progress towards grade-level state standards but also provide opportunities for growth and progress towards IEP goal and objectives as well!

This all day session will consist of creating interactive and engaging activities for your students centered around pre-requisite skills.

The morning session will focus on activities for Reading Language Arts, Social Studies and History and the afternoon will focus on activities for Math and Science.

You will walk away with several engaging activities ready to use in your classroom that are aligned to grade level TEKS!
