In this session, we will provide an overview of IDEA and Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) and what is needed for a student to qualify for adapted physical education services. Within the LRE, we will discuss support strategies including collaboration with other indirect service providers to support student learning. We will address instructional strategies linked through Universal Design for Leaning that identifies ways students can access the curriculum such as verbal, visual, and sensory cueing and organizational and management strategies that enable students to participate in activities with necessary supports. Options for grade level outcomes through equipment, instructional and support accommodations with be provided.
