This three-day professional development series is tailored for educators seeking to enhance their expertise in special education program implementation and IEP development, particularly for students receiving dyslexia instructional services.

Days 1 and 2 of this training offer Standards-Based Individualized Education Program (IEP) Process Training for Teachers. Day 3 focuses on Collaboration Considerations for Designing Special Education Supports for Students Receiving Dyslexia Instructional Services.

Day 1 lays the foundation by exploring key concepts in standards-based IEP development, emphasizing student data evaluation, and crafting Present Levels of Academic and Functional Performance Statements. Participants will gain insights into the regulatory landscape and effective implementation strategies.

Building upon Day 1, Day 2 concentrates on the intricacies of formulating comprehensive IEP goals, encompassing both academic and functional objectives. Additionally, attendees will delve into the prerequisites for IEP data collection and the crucial aspect of progress monitoring.

Day 3 serves as a bridge, leveraging the knowledge acquired from the preceding days to integrate dyslexia intervention practices into the IEP development process. This session facilitates collaborative discussions among campus staff, aiming to seamlessly incorporate dyslexia-related data into PLAAFPs and IEP goals. Notably, these discussions will address the evolving landscape of dyslexia services due to HB 3928, fostering local-level conversations and adaptation.

Please note that attendance for Day 3 is contingent upon the successful completion of the Standards-Based Individualized Education Program (IEP) Process Training for Teachers. For inquiries or requests regarding Day 3 attendance only, please contact Goldie Tappan at goldie.tappan@esc20.net
