G/T 6 hour update: Growing Gifted Girls in STEM

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

There is a place for all of our girls in STEM, we just need to make sure we help them find their place. During our time together we will look at ways adults, including teachers and parents, can encourage girls to embrace STEM both inside and outside the classroom. We will discuss the research and data surrounding girls in STEM plus review some great resources. As part of the session, we will have candid conversations on what some current barriers might be to access and talk about some possible solutions.

This will be a Face to Face session at ESC, Region 20. Please bring charged technology to the session.
