Virtual: Steering Clear of Fads and Pseudoscience: Separating Fact from Fiction in Autism Care & Education

ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance for families and professionals working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders in a variety of school settings.

Important Session Information:

In the wake of the rise in autism incidence, autism interventions, programs, and treatments have also increased. Generally, professionals recognize the importance of effective programs. Nevertheless, numerous fad treatments lack proof. As well as being time-consuming and ineffective, such programs exploit educators' and caregivers' emotional vulnerabilities and resources.

During this virtual session, we will discuss how to identify fad intervention programs and best focus our attention on evidence-based programs and resources. In this informative and engaging session, educators and caregivers of learners with autism will gain valuable insights into identifying and combating pseudoscience and fad interventions.

This session will take place in the form of a Zoom session. Participants must have a desktop, laptop or Chromebook in order to participate, along with an adequate internet connection. Active participation of various forms will be required during the session in order to obtain course credit. You will receive a confirmation email from Connect20.
