VIRTUAL: ESC-20 FALL LANGUAGE SERIES: NO! SESSION 2 OF 3



Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

in this session we will discuss the importance of connecting oral language to literacy by integrating practical and authentic strategies for leading children to reading and writing.  By helping children develop a positive attitude toward the use of print, by matching children’s interests and stages of development, by engaging in authentic and robust conversations--all day, every day, and by making print a natural part of their day.
