ESC-20 provides professional development and technical assistance to support educators with implementation of the Mathematics TEKS by analyzing data to enhance instructional practices to meet the needs of students, and provides targeted support to reach campus and district goals.

In this session, we will go over tools and help give guidance essential for successfully solving for why students struggle with mathematics. During this session you will learn how to:

  • Identify a struggling math learner
  • Develop theories for why a learner may be struggling
  • Facilitate a Concrete-Representational-Abstract assessment
  • Implement an insightful Collaborative Study
  • Conduct powerful student interviews
  • Support learners who struggle with memory challenges, attention deficit disorder, and affective difficulties
  • Differentiate instruction through a main lesson
