High Quality PreK Series: ECDS - What you need to know. (Bring your PEIMS Coordinator)

Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

Use of Quality Data to Drive Instruction

Important Session Information:

The Early Childhood Data System (ECDS) is used by the TEA to collect voluntary and state-mandated early childhood data which informs school districts, communities, and early childhood programs about the effectiveness of kindergarten, prekindergarten, Head Start, and community-based licensed childcare programs.

In this session we will walk through the process of loading and submitting ECDS data and share some troubleshooting tips. By reviewing past and current submissions, we can ensure accurate and timely data, and when, how, and why error fatal errors may occur, and how to remedy them.
