Know Your CLASS Series: Questions (Instructional Support-Concept Development)

Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) provides assistance to districts in the successful development and implementation of a school readiness integration model of coordinated funding that brings school districts, Head Start programs and child care providers together in a mixed delivery model.  ESC-20 also provides leadership to ensure the effective regional implementation of appropriate instructional strategies in early childhood settings through technical assistance and professional development in the areas of developmentally appropriate practices and curriculum and supports parents with Pre-Kindergarten information and eligibility criteria.

Important Session Information:

Today's session will focus on effective concept development by integrating content areas, and helping children make connections, analyze problems, and generate ideas through trial and error, experimentation and brainstorming. Helping children acquire a deeper understanding of concepts opens a world of opportunities for them to analyze and problemĀ solve, and see connections to their own world. We will see the effects of these practices in action and then apply our understanding to elevate an existing lesson.
