G/T Administrator/Counselor Foundational Training
The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:
In this session you will learn about the nature of gifted students, identification measures to find the gifted and program options that meet their needs. You will also learn what is required by Texas law for gifted students and what best identification and program practices should be followed. As a participant in this online workshop, you will contribute ideas to the discussion board, share your own experiences, and research related information. The objectives will be met through internet investigations, investigations of district information and practices, and threaded discussions. This workshop meets Texas state requirements for six hour G/T administrators and counselor training. NOTE: This course should only be taken by Campus Administrators or Counselors. It is recommended that you bring charged technology to this session if you would like to interact with documents electronically. Fees: $0 G/T Coop $100 Non-Coop
