Registering for this session covers DAY TWO of instruction. Jan McCleskey, author and creator of the First Strokes handwriting products and owner of The Handwriting Clinic, will present information and strategies to meet a variety of handwriting needs!
The focus for day two is on supports for students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, disorder of written expression, and interventions for print, cursive, and keyboarding, particularly for occupational therapists and educators 2nd grade and above.
Learning Objectives:

Review selected research on grasp development and intervention and discuss reasons and
strategies to change or “tweak” grasps when needed.
• Practice remedial techniques for letter reversals and receive access to download reversal technique activities to use in clinical or classroom setting.
• Practice skills for developing a dynamic grasp.
• Learn how to improve students handwriting through remedial legibility techniques for sizing, spacing.
• Label speed handwriting errors and identify within handwriting samples.
• Discuss remedial techniques for number legibility
• Participate in a cursive handwriting lab
• Identify techniques for speed and visual memory of cursive
