As part of the Pre-K & Early Childhood Education Collaborative (PEEC) series, this session will provide both general and special education intermediate practitioners (3+ years as Pre-K or PPCD teacher or those who attended Level 1 in previous year), a comprehensive training on the integration of strategies to most effectively extend and scaffold Emergent Literacy Reading skills. Each Level 2 session will include:
- Alignment to the Pre-K Guidelines, Head Start Early Learning Framework, and Early Childhood Outcomes
- How to build on the strengths of each child’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development;
- Making meaningful connections to foundational skills required for learning early literacy and math;
- Key strategies for fostering each child’s natural curiosity in a play-based learning environment; and
- Make lasting connections with like-minded educators through collaboration and the sharing of ideas, best practices, and advocacy.
Each PEEC session includes time for make and take activities.
