This impactful session will help participants with the identification of mental or emotional disorders; understand the characteristics of the most prevalent mental or emotional disorders among children; implementing effective strategies for teaching and intervening with students with mental or emotional disorders, including de-escalation techniques and positive behavioral interventions and supports; and providing, in compliance with Section 38.010, notice and referral to a parent or guardian of a student with a mental or emotional disorder so that the parent or guardian may take appropriate action such as seeking mental health services.
