This session will provide participants with an overview of the Data Validation Monitoring (DVM) System for Student Discipline Records along with a detailed view of the TEA required activities based on the stage of intervention for 2017.

Participants are asked to bring a laptop and the following three TSDS PEIMS reports that may be helpful as part of the review of discipline data:

  • PDM3-132-002 (PRF7D012): School Disciplinary Action Detail by Reason

  • PDM3-132-001 (PRF7D013): School Disciplinary Action Roster

  • PDM3-132-003 (PRF7D014): Student Disciplinary Action Summary

Additional resources available for districts include:

  • Texas Education Data Standards (TEDS) (including Appendix E)

  • TSDS PEIMS reports that present student rosters listed by both Reason and Action Codes

  • Data Element Summary

Participants will engage in a 1-hour PowerPoint presentation followed by a two-hour work session for those who wish to stay and begin working on the completion of required staging activities.

Please note that districts should ensure that discipline program contacts have access to TSDS PEIMS reports, which may require additional approval to access.

Access to TEASE (ISAM) will be helpful to complete the workbooks.
