Genius Hour allows students to explore their own passions and encourages creativity in the classroom. It provides students a choice in what they learn, unstructured time to research topic(s), and the freedom to create a product of choice to show what they learned or bring awareness to their ideas and topic(s). In this session, you will learn strategies to help students dive into research and make their own self created ideas and project come to life. We will emphasize the messy, creative, personalized nature of Genius Hour by providing an authentic guide to present the SWISD G/T project to your students through a student-centered and inquiry based approach, to help your students get out of their comfort zones and challenge themselves. This session can take the place of G/T Day 4, 5, or a 6 hour update if not previously taken.
