On April 23, 2018, TEA proposed the Special Education Strategic Plan with the goal of outlining a “system that supports ongoing efforts to achieve strong outcomes for all students with disabilities.” Because of the Special Education Strategic Plan, Local Education Agencies (LEAs) have local determinations to make regarding how they will implement the requirements outlined. This training will provide considerations for LEAs about their child find and compensatory service responsibilities required by the strategic plan. Useful resources will be provided that may assist LEAs in their decision-making process for determining when to initiate referrals to special education and calculating compensatory services. This training will be appropriate for Special Education, 504 and Response to Intervention (RtI) administrators, and evaluation personnel.
This session will be available online via ZOOM meeting.
Please note- This session was previously offered under the title of "TEA Special Education Strategic Plan: Guidance for Local Education Agencies (LEAs)" on August 10th, 2018.
