Dyslexia Identification Part 3: Overview of Dyslexia and Dysgraphia Evaluation Procedures



ESC-20 provides training and technical assistance for professionals serving student with dyslexia. Students with dyslexia usually experience difficulties with other language skills such as spelling, writing, and pronouncing words.

Important Session Information:


This session will review the procedures for evaluation and identification of dyslexia and dysgraphia, as outlined in Chapters 3 and 5 of the Dyslexia Handbook, 2018 Update.  We will also explore considerations for evaluating English Learners (ELs).

PREREQUISITE:  It is recommended that participants attend Dyslexia Identification Part 1 and Part 2 prior to attending this session.  Participants who do not attend the prerequisite will need to print and bring their own copy of the Dyslexia Handbook, 2018 Update with them to this training.

This session meets the criteria outlined in TAC §232.11 regarding continuing professional education hours required to renew teacher certification through the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).
