Session Detail

School Safety
Stop-the-Bleed Train-the-Trainer course

The ESC-20 School Safety Program provides training and technical assistance to school districts in the comprehensive development of school safety programs.

Important Session Information:

The purpose of the workshop is to provide instruction regarding the use of your hands, dressings, and tourniquets to save the lives of those injured from a shooting or other similar event/accident. Victims can die from uncontrolled bleeding in as little as 10 minutes. We recall the words shared by the students in Parkland, Florida, who described watching helplessly as others who were injured died because they did not know how to respond. This course is designed for those with little to no medical training but may be called upon to respond to and deliver trauma care and bleeding control prior to the arrival of emergency medical services. This course will also prepare you to deliver and train others throughout your campus/district in these life saving measures.
