Create an effective science classroom by using an instructional model aimed to engage students, motivate them to learn, and guide them toward skill development. One of the ways to do this is by incorporating inquiry-based approaches like the 5 E Model, which is grounded in active learning. In this session we will explore this model for planning and delivery of science concepts. We will learn quick and easy strategies to actively and cognitively engage students in the learning process. Teachers will learn teaching strategies that allow each teacher to get evidence of participation and cognitive engagement for all students. Each teacher will leave with handouts to implement the 5 E model and strategies.
