Presented by Patti Kelly Ralabate, Ed.D.
As an instructional framework, Universal Design for Learning (UDL) helps educators to meet the learning needs of ALL their students, including students with disabilities and English learners. But how do you apply theory to your planning? This workshop focuses on integrating the UDL principles into best practice through a 6-step UDL lesson planning process that works for all curriculum areas and ages, and helps educators create inclusive learning environments. During this workshop, you will use a UDL lens to:
- define flexible, clear S.M.A.R.T. learning goals based on standards;
- consider the classroom impact of learner variability;
- determine appropriate, meaningful assessments;
- infuse UDL into traditional teaching methods;
- select materials and media that add value; and
- refine your learning through self-reflection.
You will leave with ideas you can immediately apply.
