This session will review requirements outlined in Chapter II of the Dyslexia Handbook, 2018 Update regarding K-1 Dyslexia Screening. Participants will practice applying their knowledge with case studies of students and determine whether the student demonstrates dyslexia risk factors and what next action steps should be taken.
PREREQUISITE: It is recommended that participants attend Dyslexia Identification Parts 1 and 2 prior to attending this session. Participants will need to bring a copy of the Dyslexia Handbook, 2018 Update with them to this training.
This session meets the criteria outlined in TAC §232.11 regarding continuing professional education hours required to renew teacher certification through the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).
