Evaluation
Cultural Competency for Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSPs)
ESC-20 provides resources, training and technical assistance for evaluators. Quarterly contact group meetings for LSSP’s and Educational Diagnosticians are also provided.
Important Session Information:
A Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP) lays the foundation of the special education experience for students and families. This course is designed to investigate the role that culture and diversity have in the practice of evaluating students for potential disability conditions. Diversity is often interpreted through the lens of ethnicity and language, but there are many other areas that can constitute cultural diversity, including gender, age, religion, sexual orientation, disability, and social economic status.
