The Texas Education Agency (TEA) outlines multiple processes for resolving special education disputes related to special education: individualized education program facilitation (FIEP), mediation, special education complaints, and due process hearings. When disputes related to special education arise there are many factors influencing and impacting the situation. Elvin Houston, attorney from Walsh Gallegos, will explore these factors from a legal perspective, addressing means to build collaboration, communication, and build consensus in the context of an Admission, Review and Dismissal (ARD) meeting.
