Now more than ever, effective school leaders are critical to successful student outcomes. Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) was developed to provide administrators with support to implement impactful strategies designed to improve instruction and student performance at the campus and district level. Administrators must be knowledgeable in curriculum and instruction, skillful in data gathering and analysis, able to set goals, skillful in conducting effective conferences, possess team-building skills and conflict resolution skills, and have mentoring and coaching skills. AEL will meet these expectations.
Advancing Educational Leadership (AEL) Certification training is a three-day training required for administrators who appraise teachers. This certification is a co-requisite to the T-TESS Appraiser Certification.
**Administrators who hold an ILD Certification are grandfathered and are therefore not required to hold an AEL Certification.**
