What really takes place in dyslexia intervention? How can I support my students or help provide specially designed instruction if I really don’t understand what the dyslexia teacher is doing? Participants will receive and overview of the components of a dyslexia intervention program that meets the criteria outlined in the Dyslexia Handbook. Participants will participate in hands-on activities to know how to better support students identified with dyslexia in the general education and/or special education setting.
Intended Audience: individuals who do not have a background in dyslexia intervention (general educators, special educators, administrators).
NOTE: This is a recommended prerequisite to SPDI vs. SDI: Specially Designing Dyslexia Instruction for those who do not have a background in dyslexia intervention.
COVID-19 Adaptation: Out of an abundance of caution, this session will be offered virtually.
NOTE: This session will take place in the form of a webinar. Participants must have a desktop, laptop, or Chromebook in order to participate, along with adequate internet connection. Active participation of various forms will be required during the session in order to obtain course credit.
