This session is being held via ZOOM. This is Part 1 of a two-part, stand-alone series.
Federal regulations require local educational agencies (LEAs, which includes ISDs and Open-Enrollment Charter Schools) to maintain effective control over, and accountability for, all funds, property, and other assets purchased with federal funds and assure they are used solely for authorized purposes.
This two-part session will provide information on the following topics:
Part 1 Learning Objectives (11/12/2020):
- Understand the Federal Cost Principles for allowable use of federal education funds
- Review principles for determining allowable use of IDEA-B funds
- Examine timeline for obligation of funds and effective use of funds
Part 2 Learning Objectives (12/7/20):
- Review allowable and permissive use of IDEA-B funds
- Understand basic principles of fiscal requirements for IDEA-B funds
- Review allowable use of state special education funds
There are no pre-session or post-session assignments for this event. However, it would be beneficial to attend both Part 1 and Part 2.
