Zoom Session - G/T 3 hour update: Utilizing Socratic Questioning in your Classroom



The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:


Relevant critical thinking and effective questioning are important expectations for all students in your classes. G/T students may often have high expectations set forth for them in the classroom to analyze content in critical manners, but have we taken the time to educate our students in effective practices. Join us for some high yield questioning through Socratic Principles and Questioning that can be enhanced with Socratic Seminars. We will elaborate on how this can be done in virtual environments as well.

This session will be a Zoom session from 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM. There will be a product component that will be submitted to complete your 3 hour credit by March 30 . You will be receiving a Zoom Pre-Registration Link. Please fill out with your District E-mail.

The documents and submissions will be through Google Classroom on the day of the session. It is highly recommended to have your personal Google Account ready in the event that you are not able to join with your District E-mail.
