Zoom Session: G/T 6 hour update: Strategies to bridge the world to the classroom in G/T Instruction

The Gifted and Talented program at Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) promotes and supports the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students through professional development and technical assistance. This is accomplished by advocating, designing and providing an array of learning experiences for teachers and administrators of gifted and talented students in order to enable them to provide a nurturing environment in which these students with special abilities, unique needs, and diverse backgrounds are recognized.

Important Session Information:

Everyday our students are inundated with relevant information through media and society. The goal of G/T education is to bridge this reality to our curriculum. The solution to this is simple, but not easy….. or is it??? Participants will explore a framework that can be utilized in G/T instruction to help push our content to be more comprehensible for our students and shift from learning to authentic understanding.

NOTE: This session can count for a G/T Day 4, Day 5 or 6-Hour Update if not previously taken.
